National membership in the Project Management Institute (PMI) has grown nearly 600% since 1998. People attaingin PMI certification have grown from 3,700 to 247,000 over the same period. The Project Management concentration prepares students to understand the project management process and its role in the larger organization. Increasingly businesses are organizing activity around projects - endeavors with a defined beginning and end that are undertaken to achieve a stated goal, within a specified time period for a stated budget. The ability to organize teams to achieve the stated goals on time and at budge applies to virtually all enterprises - business, government, non profits, health sciences, interior design and construction among others.
After completing the MBA core students take four elective courses. The courses will help prepare students interested in taking the PMI certification exam.
